Hi guys! I hope you all enjoyed conference this weekend! The talks were so inspired and very motivating. My companion and I had a general conference countdown and it was definitely worth all the hype.
Last Monday, we got together as a Zone and played gator ball. It's a combination of football, rugby, and soccer. So fun! It definitely got heated and I'm happy to say that our team won.
On Wednesday, we got on a big yellow school bus with half of our mission and traveled to the Seattle Temple! Sister Codling, Sister Dorius, Sister Fisher, and I each brought about 10 family names and were able to do all the ordinances for them! While everyone was getting off the bus and getting settled, we rushed into the Temple and did baptisms, confirmations, and initiatories for our ancestors before the endowment session started. It was a complete miracle that we were able to do all of these ordinances in such a short amount of time while feeling the overwhelming spirit and peace of the Temple. It was so cool feeling the presence of each of our ancestors and witnessing so many miracles that day. A few years ago, I would've never pictured myself standing in the Seattle Temple as a missionary. It was such a special experience!
On Saturday, we got to go to our investigator Paige Bergman's soccer game! She was a beast and scored a goal! We were so proud and definitely some of the loudest people in the crowd haha. The Bergman family has become kind of like our family away from home and we're invited to all their family parties and everything. Things are slowly progressing with them and I'm excited to see how the gospel changes their family's life.
This week we were fed a lot of good food. We got fed by a Samoan woman, which was so good but way too much! We were fed HUGE portions and I did everything in my power to finish what she had given me. Once I finished everything on my plate, I looked over at my small little companion and it looked like she had hardly touched any of her food and that she was about to throw up. So while the Samoan woman wasn't looking, Sister Codling shoveled a bunch of food onto my plate and I ended up eating all of that food too. I was definitely sick for the rest of the day and I didn't even think that my stomach was capable of eating that much. So if anyone wants to challenge me to an eating contest, go ahead. (;
This week was an amazing week and I was given more flowers by a sweet lady again! I think that that's God's special way of telling me "good job" and to keep going! Tender mercies are all around us! It was really emphasized in General conference that God has a hand in every single aspect of our lives and I definitely know that to be true! Keep watching out for God's tender mercies because they're everywhere! Have a great week!
