Hello friends and family! I hope you've all been enjoying this lovely Christmas season and are enjoying the freezing cold weather! I know we definitely have here in Winlock. Keep finding ways to light the world and serve this month!
Every Monday, our Zone goes caroling together and promotes the Light the world campaign. It's been so fun to spread Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear with some of the people that I love most.
On Tuesday, we went and did family history with Ed to find names to take to the Temple! He also passed his baptism interview and will be baptized on Thursday! Yayyy!! We also had a lesson with Rodney on the Plan of Salvation that was wonderful!
On Friday, we had our ward Christmas party. Never have I seen a more hype festive Christmas party. Mountain View ward sure knows how to do it and go all out! It was also such a blessing because we were able to have 9+ nonmembers at the party and several less actives.
On Saturday, we decorated Christmas trees for several older people in our ward, then went and played music with the Neff family. They have a family of 9 kids that are all very talented and fun to be around.
Yesterday, Connor texted us randomly and asked when we could meet again. We thought that we had completely lost contact with him and that he wasn't wanting to have lessons anymore. But turns out, he was out in the field in the army and just super busy. I guess he had a lot of time to ponder things and pray, and he came to realize that he really wanted to be baptized! So he drove down 2 hours from the army base to meet with us, and now he's on date to be baptized December 23rd! Prayers really do work, please pray for him!
We also got to help with the mission prep class and spoke in sacrament meeting. I was lucky enough to speak about the Atonement and Why the fall required a Savior. Let us all keep the importance of our Savior Jesus Christ in mind this Christmas season!
"For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." -Mosiah 3:19
Love you all!
