Wow, what a week it's been!! It definitely was one of my favorite weeks here on the mission.
Here are some highlights:
-Sister Codling and I got chased by a massive aggressive deer with huge antlers while knocking doors. Never have I run more fast in my entire life, especially in rain boots.
-KC received the Priesthood and his temple recommend yesterday! Seattle Temple here we come! I'm just so proud of him.
-We ate dinner at a high class, fine dining seafood restaurant on a dock atop the ocean.
-I got to play the violin in sacrament meeting!
-Visiting a 95 yr. old German woman named Maria. We played music together (she plays the piano and I play the violin) and then listened to her tell cool stories from Germany during the WWII era.
-Going to early morning seminary with our investigator Cameron! I definitely took mid day seminary for granted. Cameron is really awesome and loves the feeling he gets when he's involved with church.
-Going to and supporting the young women's church basketball game. I'm happy to say that they won 67-6. Go B-town!
-I learned how to make ties
Sonya, one of our investigators, gave me a violin to borrow while I'm here in Bremerton. Every time we have a lesson with her, I play the violin for her and it makes her cry. It's amazing because her biggest struggle is knowing how to recognize the spirit while reading the Book of Mormon. And then when I play for her, the spirit testifies strongly to her. Music is such a strong spiritual tool. I never would've guessed with all those years of private lessons (thanks mom for making me stick it out) that I would end up using it to teach while on my mission! Which speaking of music, I'm still struggling to learn how to play more hymns on the piano as the district pianist. So prayers are much appreciated.
This week was really slow with finding new investigators. It was hard, because we were working extremely hard and made an even greater effort to have exact obedience throughout the week. But we weren't finding anyone that was interested at all! Luckily, yesterday was a miracle! Right after church, a man named Robert called us wondering when our church services are and what the address for the church was. And then at the end of the call, he said "Also, I would like to know more about the church. How do I do that?" Oh my goodness!! What a miracle! Today we're giving him a tour of the church and having a lesson with him.
Then, after the call we received another referral from our Zone leaders that had happened to run into Steve and Nerisa. Both Steven and Nerisa have been through a lot in their life and are wanting to make big changes. They recognize that they need Christ in their life and are wanting to learn more and become involved with church. How cool! We had a really cool lesson about Faith with them and were able to answer a lot of their questions. They're so elect!
I love you all and hope all is going well!
Love, Sister Peterson
