An adoption took place - September 24, 2018

Hi guys! Everyone is wondering what happened to our child so here's the story... we went to transfers on Wednesday and were so excited to get our greenie baby! All the new missionaries were in the gym and were sitting in a semicircle waiting to meet their trainers. It's tradition that they call them up one at a time and tell them which area they are going to be in and who their companion is going to be and then that's when we come in and hug/tackle them. Sister Hutchings and I were the next ones up and just as we were about to run in, President called for us and said he needed to talk with us right then. He pulled us inside a room and told us that he just came out of an interview with a sister missionary that has to go home due to health problems, and that the companion she was going to have will now train our baby. So we went and watched this other sister go in and get our baby. It felt as if we put her up for adoption but it's definitely okay because it is all part of God's plan and we will be able to go on exchanges with them (: We are so blessed with many opportunities to teach and testify each day. I've grown to love teaching about our Savior Jesus Christ more than anything. It's funny because if you would have asked me at the beginning of my mission what the hardest thing for me was, I would say teaching. I often wondered how God trusted me, a 19 year old with a simple testimony and little knowledge, to carry out His work and teach His children more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. But now it is what I've grown to love and appreciate the most! This week I studied the scripture in Ether 12:27 that says "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." I know that it is by having faith and humility that our weaknesses can become strengths! You guys, I love Olympia so much! I feel so at home, these are my people! Love you all so much! Have the best week!
-This is our bff Macey Adams. She just returned home from serving her mission in Louisiana and is with us all the time!! We're basically in a trio. This is at her homecoming (:
-While we were knocking, a lady asked us if we would like some water. We are not going to deny anyone blessings, so we said yes, and then she gave us water in these mason jars (:
